Rebekah Kay Vance Sauter 1981-2008, age 26
We got a call from David Sauter this morning at 7:00 am Utah time telling us that Rebekah had died in her sleep of an unknown cause. He said between 11pm (when they went to bed) and 2am (when the delivery of some lost baggage from their trip was returned) something had happened to her. He called 911, and did CPR but she was already gone. Rebekah had just turned 26 and celebrated her 4th anniversary with David. They had spent the weekend in San Francisco for David's work meeting. While she was there, on Sunday, she dropped her wallet while shopping in Union Square. She called me and said, 'You'll never believe it, there must be a Mormon in San Francisco because my wallet got turned in to Starbucks!'
We're suffering in heartbreak and having a hard time believing she's not here and that it's real. David is 24, Josh 27 months, and Nicole 9 months.
Bekah was camera shy and these are about the only photos we have of her. To send something, it's best for Bekah's parents house: Rolin and Lauree Vance 3201 NE Alameda St. Portland OR 97212. David's parents Bob and Robin Sauter 7735 SE 19th Ave Portland, OR 97202-6208

Thank you so much for the pictures. Linette Smith (Kate's mom)
I knew her when we were girls in Portland. I hadn't kept up with Rebekah since then. So sudden. I have two the same ages. May God be with her husband and little ones. I'll be praying for all of you.

The friends at QFC just want to send our sympathy to the Vance and Sauter families. We are sad to hear of Rebakah's sudden passing. Our hearts are with everyone.
